Dear Community,

This is Allison Hill, Executive Director of Cascade Connections. As we approach the end of year and the season of gratitude, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on all that we’ve accomplished in 2025, and the challenges we’re facing ahead.

This year, we proudly celebrated our 45th anniversary and launched new programs aimed at improving employment outcomes, expanding supported living services, and increasing accessibility in both our physical and digital spaces. We’ve grown, trained more staff, and supported even more individuals in our community. But we’ve also faced some financial challenges that will require us to take some bold steps forward.

The need is greater than ever.

Despite our continued efforts, federal funding cuts and inflation have made it harder to keep up with rising costs. On top of that, we recently learned that our Ferndale office lease won’t be renewed, meaning we will need to relocate our Training and Residential programs early next year—a significant financial burden.

But there’s good news, too. Cascade Connections has always thrived because of people like YOU—our incredible community of supporters.

That’s why this end-of-year giving season, we’re setting an ambitious goal: to add 45 new monthly donors to our community by the end of the year.

Why 45? Because it’s more than a number. It’s a reflection of our 45 years of service and our continued commitment to ensuring that people with developmental disabilities have access to essential services, regardless of the challenges we face. Your ongoing support can help us provide:

  • A smooth transition to a new location, ensuring we continue our vital services without interruption.
  • Training programs to grow the skilled workforce of caregivers who provide essential support to individuals with disabilities.
  • Supported Living services that promote dignity and inclusion in the community.
  • Home Care programs that help seniors and people with disabilities live independently and with dignity in their own homes.
  • Vocational Services that give people the opportunity to earn a living and fully participate in their community.

Becoming a monthly donor is one of the most impactful ways you can support Cascade Connections. Your monthly contribution provides us with the steady, reliable income needed to keep our doors open and meet the needs of our community. And, as a bonus, becoming a monthly donor  is your chance to be part of something bigger.

If we can reach our goal of 45 new monthly donors, we’ll be well-positioned to weather the upcoming challenges, fund our programs, and continue making a real difference in the lives of the individuals we serve.

Will you be one of the 45? Your support can have an incredible impact.

Join us today as a monthly donor. It’s quick, easy, and ensures that your support is ongoing. Together, we can keep the spirit of independence, dignity, and inclusion alive throughout Whatcom County.

With deep gratitude,

Allison Hill
Executive Director, Cascade Connections
