Class Description:
This course provides in-depth caregiver training on the specialized needs of individuals with mental health issues. Learners receive a general overview of mental disorders, with an emphasis on four of the most common. This course also teaches students how to offer culturally sensitive care and respectful and non-judgmental communication. Enrollees learn tools and methods for handling challenging behaviors, identifying and helping with de-compensation and relapse, and providing crisis and suicide intervention.
