Class Location: Cascade Connections Training Center
Class Type: In-Person
CE Credits: 4
Class Description:
DSPs are often not medically trained and need guidelines and tools to know when to proactively protect and advocate for an individual’s health and safety. However, when they have a clear understanding of how changes in a person’s behavior, habits, and physical condition can be a sign of a greater healthcare crisis, DSPs do have the power to save lives and prevent harm. Enrollees learn how to demonstrate proactive strategies when protecting an individual’s health and wellness. Participants also learn how to respond appropriately to changes in an individual’s baseline condition, to communicate what constitutes a medical emergency, and to intervene in an urgent situation. Course graduates demonstrate strong follow-through/follow-up with appointments and activities that protect an individual’s health and well-being.
