Class Description:
This course provides in-depth training for caregivers on the specialized needs of individuals with dementia issues. Participants learn how dementia affects various areas of life, including communication and sexuality. Enrollees learn about relevant medications and how to assist with ADLs and meaningful activities. The course provides tools and methods for exploring and handling challenging behaviors such as aggression or violence. Course topics include clarifying the difference between hallucinations and delusions and providing appropriate intervention strategies. Participants also learn how to support caregiver well-being.
