Class Description:
DDA created Peer Coaching (RCW 74.39A.331 On the Job Training and WACs 388-101-3258, 3240, 3302) to help ensure that staff get sufficiently trained to provide high-quality support to individuals. This course provides methods and tools that peer coaches can implement to provide a positive and thorough training experience for new staff. Peer coaches learn how to effectively coach, support, guide, and train.
What can participants expect?
To learn tools and best practices that will help them learn how to be an effective coach, how to support, guide, and train.
Prerequisite:
To take this training, the student will have to:
- Completed the entire Peer Coaching packet for themselves.
- Worked for Cascade Connections for over six months and have successfully passed all credentials or requirements.
- Completed the Application for Peer Coaching Training and your supervisor approved for you to take the training.
Homework Requirement:
During the in-person class, students will be assigned 4 hours of homework to complete during their designated shifts. It is imperative that they complete the homework and subsequently meet with the instructor on the date for which they have registered (Day 2).
