Class Description:

Providing direct care and supports to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities can be life-changing and meaningful work. When an individual with IDD develops dementia, new dimensions are added to the care that Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) provide, and it can be challenging to fill in gaps in services and care. This three-module training helps DSPs understand the complexities of care and unique needs of individuals with I/DD and dementia. Course participants learn tools and strategies that DSPs can use to provide better supports to these individuals.
