Class Description:

This evidence-informed and trauma-informed curriculum supports competitive, integrated employment for all people with developmental disabilities. Have you witnessed employees losing their jobs not because they couldn’t do the work, but because they interacted poorly with their co-workers and customers? Building Healthy Relationships in the Workplace teaches people with Developmental Disabilities how to navigate these relationships and become great employees. This courses uses cognitively accessible and interactive lesson plans that include role playing, sorting, and other activities to engage the learners. The lessons use real-life situations to teach healthy boundaries in the workplace. Enrollees learn about clear boundaries and rules for interacting with people in the workplace, including how to avoid harassing others and what to do if you are being harassed. This curriculum is a collaboration between Elevatus Training and Project SEARCH, with input from experts in the fields of relationship and sexuality and competitive, integrated employment programs.
